Herbal Musings
I love herbs and use them daily in so many ways. How blessed we are to share this beautiful planet with them.
Dream Sachet~ Mix the following dried herbs in a bowl- 1/4 cup each, mugwort, catnip and lavender buds. Tuck the herbs into small squares of brightly colored fabric. Sew up the squares and place the sachets inside your pillow, or between the bottom sheet and the mattress.
Ideas For Aromatic Blends:
Combine dried grapefruit rind or other citrus peel with lemon balm and lemongrass. The scent will last for months. Add the ingredients to a small glass jar, or open container. I have one on my desk that I made in December, and it still smells so good. Looks pretty as well.
Add dried lime peel and eucalyptus leaves to dried white rose petals. Combine the mix in white tulle’ bags. Hang or place the bags among your clothes in the closet or dresser.
Pillow Tucks:
Combine 10 cloves, 10 broken cinnamon sticks, 1 cup of dried peppermint and 1 cup of dried lavender buds. Mix this well, and add a tablespoon to used dryer sheets. Tie up the sheets with string or ribbon and tuck them behind sofa pillows or bed pillows. Wedge them between sofa or chair cushions.
Paper Sachets:
Add one tablespoon of your favorite herb to a paper doilie. Fold over and tape it shut. Place them in the desk drawer, linen closet, under the seat of your car. I make dozens of them for friends and relatives. Favorites are peppermint, lavender, citrus peel and patchouli.
