When I saw the article, I thought to myself “Why didn’t I think of this?”

You can grow a lot of herbs and vegetables in a small outdoor space this way. Think of the basil, cilantro, dill, and other herbs that would do well in gutters. Maybe you would like to grow spring onions, lettuce, or small flower plants like marigolds and impatiens. Gutters can be of course be custom cut to whatever space you have, and you can have multiple racks on, say, a south-facing wall that gets enough sun.
