Leonard the Christmas Comet

On December 12th, 2021, a once-in-a-lifetime event will occur. A comet called Leonard will shine like a Northern Star. Visible to the naked eye at dawn, Leonard will light up the night sky with a warm and soft red glow. Look for Leonard to become brighter between December 12th, 2021 through January 12th, 2022.

Leo – The Lion….Nard – Strong and True

So in December, a Lion will roar through our solar system, and perhaps bring tidings of comfort and joy to the people of Earth.

Rosemary – a Goodly Herb

According to ancient magical lore, rosemary was called ‘Elf-Leaf ‘, and bunches of it were hung indoors to prevent thieves and evil fairies from stealing gold and food at Yule.

Something About Patchouli

Folk Names – Pucha-Pot, Kablin, Patchouly
Element- Mother Earth
Also known as the Yule Herb

Use the dried herb in Mojo bags and sachets at Yule. Dab a little of the essential oil on your left wrist and make a wish at Christmas. Wish for something or someone special. The Patchouli herb is known for love and most wished for personal gifts.

The Patchouli tree is a member of the lavender family. In Victorian England, only very wealthy ladies received Bengali cashmere shawls as gifts. The shawls were packed in wooden chests with patchouli leaves layered between them to deter moths. Imagine a Victorian ball with these ladies swirling about, dressed in fancy clothes — and wrapped in these beautiful and sweet smelling shawls.

A Yule Trifle

Bake a spice cake according to directions on the box. A 13 x 9 x 2 inch cake pan should suffice.
Allow the cake to cool.
Meanwhile prepare a 6 ounce box of vanilla instant pudding according to package directions. You can use Cool Whip or real whipped cream.

To assemble:
Cut the cake in small squares. Layer small bowls or juice glasses with the cake pieces and the pudding. You can sprinkle pecans or walnuts on top. Finish off the trifle with whipped topping and a sprinkle of ground cinnamon.

Blessed be, Sweet Ones.
